That's before you even get round to discovering the local food, arts, and music.

With peace and an abundance of nature, you can unwind with a good book, paint in the island's light, or lose yourself for a time collecting sea glass and stones on the shore.

The unique spirit of Arran

Arran possesses its own distinct feeling, a magic that is almost impossible to describe but must be experienced.

Before moving to Arran, we used to visit often. Duncan's grandparents lived here, and we always returned, hiking, sailing, or in a campervan when our daughter was born.

Whatever we did, the Isle of Arran affected us. As an old friend who visited Lamlash often used to put it, we would get "Lamlashed": a grounding, lighter feeling, though in truth, the whole of Arran does this. It's a place full of experiences and fun, a unique sense of belonging that keeps people and families returning for generations. Come and discover what makes Arran so special for yourself.
